Michael P. Walsh Sworn in as Mayor of East Hartford

East Hartford, CT— On November 8, 2021 Town Clerk Robert Pasek swore in Michael P. Walsh as the new Mayor of the Town of East Hartford. The brief, yet historic ceremony, took place in the East Hartford Town Hall for the first time in a decade.

“It is my absolute honor to be sworn in as Mayor of the Town of East Hartford,” said Mayor Mike.  “I am proud to represent my community and look forward to serving the residents and businesses of East Hartford.”

As a 32-year-long resident of East Hartford, Mayor Mike has a long history in town. He served as East Hartford’s Finance Director for 23 years, which allowed him to become intimately familiar with the town’s operations. Most recently, he served in the Office of Policy and Management as Undersecretary of Strategic Initiatives and Accountability giving him a better understanding of the state’s financial operations. Overall, Mayor Mike brings in 40 years cumulative experience in accounting, finances, insurance, healthcare, municipal operations and so much more.

Mayor Mike replaces a long-time former Mayor Marcia Leclerc who announced her decision not to seek reelection earlier this year.
