MDC Hazardous Waste Collection Day in East Hartford Saturday, October 15
Every spring and fall the Metropolitan District Commission conducts a hazardous waste collection program across greater Hartford. This is a great opportunity for East Hartford residents to collect and dispose of Hazardous waste which cannot be put out with the garbage or dumped down a drain. This fall, the MDC will be hosting a collection day in East Hartford on Saturday, October 15 from 8AM to 1PM at their 65 Pitkin St. location.
Hazardous waste is waste that poses a significant threat to human health or to the environment. For this reason, it should not be thrown out with the trash, flushed or poured down a drain. Residents should keep and safely store their hazardous waste and bring to an MDC collection day for proper disposal.
Residents who are unable to make the collection day in East Hartford can drop their waste off with ID or proof of residency at any of the collection days in other towns. For a full list of collection dates and times, for registration forms, and for more information, see the MDC website.
