Mayor Leclerc Proclaims Public Works Week

The week of May 15 – May 21 recognizes the important work of DPW professionals.

(May 17, 2016) East Hartford, CT – Mayor Marcia A. Leclerc has proclaimed the week of May 15 through May 21 as Public Works Week in the Town of East Hartford, as part of a national week of recognition and appreciation for the vital work of these dedicated professionals.

“Our fantastic team of public works professionals goes above and beyond to ensure that our community is a safe, healthy and comfortable place to live, work and play, said Mayor Leclerc. From repairing our streets and highways, collecting our waste and maintaining our parks and playgrounds, every day they work tirelessly to make our town a better place. Much of what they do goes unrecognized by the general public, yet they keep striving to provide the absolute best service possible.”

This year’s theme for National Public Works Week is ‘Public Works, Always There’”, said Public Works Director Tim Bockus. “The men and women of the East Hartford Public Works Department have proven time and time again the truth in that statement.  Whether it’s the daily tasks that get completed mostly unnoticed or the dedicated response in times of need, this community knows that the East Hartford Department of Public Works is always there for them.”
