East Hartford, CT - The East Hartford Public Library is hosting an exhibit by Hartford artist Thomas McCabe, on view from now until September 30, 2022 in the atrium area of the library.

McCabe has had a lifelong interest in the visual arts, especially comic book art. He counts influences as diverse as Norman Rockwell, Archie comics, Henri Matisse, Mad Magazine, Toulouse-Lautrec, the bands Talking Heads and Canned Heat, Seinfeld, National Lampoon Magazine, and 1960s Walt Disney comedies. His paintings reflect these diverse influences in fun and whimsical ways.

“I hope that, by taking a couple of minutes to goof on my paintings,” McCabe said, “people are able to smile at the subtle humor and take a break from stresses of the world.”
