Local Historian William Hosley to Speak on Colt’s Life and Legacy

Local historian William Hosley will offer a slideshow and lecture on Elizabeth Colt, the wife of legendary arms inventor Samuel Colt, at the East Hartford Public Library on Thursday, March 14 at 2 pm in Meeting Room 1.

Mrs. Colt was one of Victorian Hartford's most influential civic leaders. Her legacy as a patron of the arts, builder, charitable entrepreneur, and philanthropist lives on today in the church, park, museum wing, and public sculpture that bear the Colt name.
