East Hartford To Offer a Low-Cost Rabies Clinic for Dogs and Cats

WHAT: Low-Cost Rabies Clinic

WHEN: Saturday, May 21, 2022; 10 AM - 12 PM

WHERE: Firehouse No. 1 (rear of building), 726 Main Street, East Hartford, CT

East Hartford, CT— Mayor Michael P. Walsh is pleased to announce that the Town Clerk, Robert J. Pasek, will sponsor a Low-Cost/No-Cost Rabies Vaccination Clinic in partnership with Dr. Linda Kane, Veterinarian of the East Hartford Animal Clinic, and in cooperation with the Connecticut Veterinary Medical Association. The Low-Cost/No-Cost Rabies Vaccination Clinic will be held on Saturday, May 21, 2022, from 10:00am to 12:00pm at the rear of Firehouse Number 1, located at 726 Main Street, East Hartford, CT (next to Town Hall).

Dogs must be on leashes and cats must be in carriers. The rabies clinic is open to all—there are no residency requirements.

The fee is $20, cash only. Pet owners who are on public assistance are permitted to have one pet vaccinated at no charge by showing their State Public Assistance Identification Card to the Clinic Coordinator.

The clinic will issue a three-year rabies vaccination to pets who are already vaccinated but due for their next dose. Owners must present their pet’s rabies vaccination due date on either a current rabies certificate or a town dog license to receive the three-year vaccine. The one-year vaccine will be given to all other pets.

Dog license tags are not sufficient proof for a three-year vaccination.
