East Hartford, CT—East Hartford seniors are invited to participate in a free drive-through “Friendsgiving” event. To ensure the safety of local seniors during the pandemic, the Senior Center’s traditional Thanksgiving dinner was transformed into a drive-through celebration.

The drive-through “Friendsgiving” will occur on Tuesday, November 24 at noon, outside the East Hartford Senior Center at 70 Canterbury Street. The event is open to the first 75 pre-registered East Hartford seniors.

The event is generously sponsored by the Friends of East Hartford Senior Centers Inc. in conjunction with East Hartford Commission on Aging. As part of the event, the Senior Center staff will be handing out pre-packaged Thanksgiving lunches to all registered participants. The lunches will consist of a turkey sandwich, chips, cookies, a bottle of water as well as a special treat. All participants will have to wear a facemask and stay in their vehicles. Upon arrival, participants will roll down their window to receive lunch.

Registration is required as spaces are limited. Please register by calling the East Hartford Senior Center at (860) 895-1517 or (860) 568-4281.
