East Hartford Public Works Begins Inspection of Recycling Carts

East Hartford, CT - The East Hartford Public Works Department has launched a new program to boost local recycling efforts. Starting on Monday, April 25 and through Wednesday, May 25,  the Department of Public Works Solid Waste Official will carry out a pilot Inspection of curbside recycling blue carts. East Hartford's Solid Waste Official will be conducting a visual inspection of the contents of recycling carts and tagging those that contain any contaminants with a red tag. Residents whose carts were tagged will receive educational materials on proper recycling and way they can improve.
