East Hartford Police Welcomes New Officers

East Hartford, CT – The Town of East Hartford and the East Hartford Police Department welcomed two new police officers today held at the East Hartford Public Safety Complex.

“East Hartford has one of the finest Police Departments in the state and that’s because of the men and women who serve as our police officers,” said Mayor Mike Walsh. “We are fortunate to be able to recruit capable, competent and diverse officers and provide them with the highest quality training that aligns with internationally-recognized CALEA standards, which helps them become a tremendous asset to our community. We welcome these new recruits and wish them the best as they begin their training.”

Officers Mathew J Lallier and Daniel H Jamieson were administered the Oath of the Office by East Hartford Town Clerk Robert Pasek, overseen my Mayor Michael P. Walsh, East Hartford Police Assistant Chief Mack Hawkins and members of his command staff.

Officer Mathew Lallier is 26 years old and grew up in Newington, CT.  Michael graduated from Newington High School, and went on to Central Connecticut State University where he completed his Bachelor of Science degree in Criminology.  Michael has been working as a ranger for Riverfront Recapture for the last 3 years.

Officer Daniel H Jamieson is 29 years old and was born in Kingston, Jamaica.  Daniel spent most of his youth residing in Jamaica, before moving to the United States.  Daniel graduated from Windsor High School where he was highly competitive in Track and Field.  From there, Daniel attended St. Augustine University on a full athletic scholarship, went on to win 4 NCAA division championships, and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice. 

Both Officers will attend the Hartford Police Academy beginning Monday, August 22nd.
