East Hartford Mayor Michael P. Walsh Welcomes Tyron Harris as the Town’s New Human Resources Director

East Hartford, CT— Mayor Michael P. Walsh is excited to welcome Tyron V. Harris as East Hartford’s Human Resource Director. Mr. Harris will begin in his new role on March 7, 2022.

“I am thrilled to have Tyron Harris join our team as Human Resources Director for our town,” said Mayor Michael P. Walsh. “Mr. Harris brings a wealth of experience and unmatched understanding of our community who will be able to elevate our work culture and build a strong work ethic.”

Mr. Harris held several Human Resources leadership positions with Target Corp, ADP, My People Clinical Services, and most recently, Wadsworth Museum as the Head of Human Resources. He is not a stranger to the East Hartford community, being a lifelong resident and a longtime member of the East Hartford Board of Education, a position to which he was elected in 2009 and continued to maintain over the years. He currently serves as the Chair of the Board of Education and is best known for his relationship-building skills and ability to share these skills with the community.

“I know the way our employees feel is the way our residents will feel,” said Mr. Harris. “And if our employees don’t feel valued, neither will our residents!”

In his new role as the Human Resources Director, Mr. Harris will work hand in hand with Mayor Walsh to provide high quality of human resource management to the Town of East Hartford while building positive relationships with town employees.

With appointment of Mr. Harris, all town departments are now staffed with a director and equipped with strong leadership.
