East Hartford "Dynasty" Wins Double Gold Medals in Dragon Boat Races

Defeat 61 Other Community Teams and Scores Fastest Time

August 20, 2014, East Hartford, CT -  Mayor Marcia Leclerc is pleased to commend the team representing the Town of East Hartford who successfully beat all other competitors at the recent Riverfont Recapture Dragon Boat Races, and brought home two gold medals for their outstanding efforts. With the fastest time of the day – 2:43 – the team of twenty-one East Hartford employees from the Police, Fire and Town Hall, rowed to victory.

Said Mayor Marcia Leclerc, “This year we brought together a team of rowers that set their sights on bringing home the gold.  In our friendly rivalry race against the city of Hartford, our team, without question, showcased the capacity, talent and dedication of the little town east of the big city.”

The two gold medals were for winning the Community “A” Division and the Mayor’s Challenge.
