WHO: Anyone who is 55 or older and reside in the Town of East Hartford

WHAT: 34th Annual Senior Picnic and Senior Center Grand Opening

WHEN: September 22; 11 AM to 2 PM

WHERE: East Hartford Senior Center, 15 Milbrook Drive, East Hartford, CT

East Hartford, CT— Mayor Marcia A. Leclerc and the Commission on Aging are happy to invite all East Hartford seniors to the 34th Annual Senior Picnic and the Senior Center Grand Opening.

The event will take place Wednesday, September 22 at 15 Milbrook Drive. The ribbon cutting and grand opening will begin at 10:30 AM, following the senior picnic from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm. Lunch will be served around noon. The menu will include choice of hot dogs, hamburgers or sausage, peppers and onions, along with salads and dessert.

This year, musical entertainment will feature singer Noah Lis who has appeared on “The Voice.” Prizes will be awarded throughout the afternoon.

The theme of this year’s picnic is “Neighborhood Hero” and those who are dressed the best will be awarded special prizes.

Those who wish to attend the picnic must purchase tickets in advance. There will be no opportunity to purchase tickets at the door. You do need to be a registered member of the Senior Center and reside in East Hartford. To become a registered member, please call 860-291-7460 to make an appointment. The ticket price for residents is $10.

Tickets are on sale now through Thursday, September 16th. Tickets can be purchased at the East Hartford Senior Center Monday-Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The East Hartford Senior Center is located at 15 Milbrook Drive.
