Commission on Culture & Fine Arts Introduces 16th Foreign Film Series

East Hartford, CT - The East Hartford Commission on Culture & Fine Arts presents their sixteenth series of foreign films. The first, on Saturday, January 20, at 7 PM, will be the British film “Aftersun”. A young woman reflects on the shared joy and private melancholy of a holiday she took with her Scottish father twenty years earlier (the 1990s), a father-daughter vacation at a cheap resort in Turkey. 2023 Oscar Nominee for Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role: Paul Mescal. This film is rated R and runs 1 hour, 42 minutes. 

On the third Saturdays of the following months; January (20), February (17), March (16) and April (20), films will be shown at seven o’clock in the evening at the Community Cultural Center (50 Chapman Place). Admission is free. The East Hartford Summer Youth Festival will be selling concessions, including popcorn. 

The three other films in the series are: “Living” (February), “The Quiet Girl” (March) and “The Lost King” (April).
