Coffee with a Cop

Event Date:
Wednesday, February 14, 2018 - 8:00am to 10:00am

This Valentine’s Day the East Hartford Police Department is inviting all Community Members to open their hearts – over a cup of coffee.  Start the day by joining them for Coffee With A Cop this Wednesday, February 14th, Valentine’s Day, from 8:00 to 10:00 AM at Dunkin’ Donuts on Main Street in East Hartford.

Since 2016, the East Hartford Police Department has hosted a regular program designed to bring police officers and the community members they serve together – over coffee – to discuss issues and learn more about each other.  No agenda, no speeches.  Talk with police about your neighborhood, ask questions, share concerns, or stop by just to chat.

“Enforcement alone is not the core of our work,” said Police Chief Scott Sansom.  “Harm reduction, sustaining healthy communities and working with our youth lie at our heart.  We must co-produce safety with the community, and programs like Coffee With A Cop have become one of many effective ways to build police-community trust,” Sansom added.

The Coffee With A Cop program is recognized on a national level for building community trust.  In a short time, Citizens and police officers get to know each other and discover mutual goals for the communities they live in and serve.  Chief Sansom and the East Hartford Police Department encourage everyone to stop by.

The next East Hartford Police Coffee with a Cop takes place from 08:00AM to 10:00AM on Valentine’s Day – Wednesday, February 14th at Dunkin’ Donuts, 1084 Main Street, East Hartford, Connecticut.  All are welcome.
