Town of East Hartford Recognized for Excellence in Financial Reporting

East Hartford, CT— The Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) awarded the Town of East Hartford the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting for its comprehensive annual financial report (CAFR) for the fiscal year ended June 30, 2019.

“Fiscal responsibility is of a significant importance to our community as we strive to provide the best services to our residents, and I am proud of our continued achievements,” said Mayor Marcia Leclerc.

The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management.

“The Town of East Hartford has a 40-year history of achieving this award in government finance,” said Finance Director Linda Trzetziak. “I am very proud to have a part in this process and appreciate the hard work of all Finance Department staff and the support of the Mayor and the Town Council.”

The GFOA is a nonprofit professional association servicing over 21,000 government finance professionals with offices in Chicago, IL and Washington, DC.
