Charter Revision Commission - Update from the Chair

Charter Revision Commission - Message from the Chair

East Hartford, CT - This is a brief update from the Charter Revision Commission. On behalf of the commission, we hope you and your family had a happy and restful Thanksgiving. Here are a few updates:

  • December 7, 2021 @ 6pm will be our next public hearing and workshop at Town Hall. The agenda is likely to be the same as the last hearing to give residents another chance to speak on our broad list of items.

  • We are working to add information and the agenda for the hearing/workshop to the town site. There's very few staff to do this, so please be patient with us.

  • We are at the decision-making phase. Now is the time to make your voice heard. We have scheduled multiple public hearings over the next two months to give residents as many opportunities to speak as possible. If you have questions, comments, etc. email us directly or send a note to Aattenello@easthartfordct.gov.

Charter revision is an enormous undertaking. The commission has spent many hours meeting and reviewing testimony, public comments, research, and other municipal charters. This bipartisan commission is working together to recommend changes that will make our government more efficient and responsive to the needs of residents. We are working for all of East Hartford. Please have your voice heard.
