PRESENTED BY THE EAST HARTFORD BEAUTIFICATION COMMISSION


CELEBRATING 25 YEARS

Help us, help others! Please bring a non-perishable food item for the Food Bank to each event.  Please buy a $2.00 Holiday Fest Button.

All proceeds from Holiday Fest will be donated to the East Hartford Food Bank.

Events listed as EHCCC, will be held at the East Hartford Community Cultural Center at 50 Chapman Place, East Hartford, CT 06108


FRIDAY, DECEMBER 1

10 AM—3 PM:  Craft Fair
Visit craft vendors for your holiday shopping needs. Riverside Health, 745 Main Street.

10 AM—4 PM:  Holiday Book Sale 
Adult & children books to read or holiday giving. Sponsored by and held at the Raymond Library, 840 Main Street.

6:30 PM:  Tree Lighting Ceremony And Sing-A-Long On The Town Green
Sponsored by the Beautification Commission and Parks & Recreation Department. The East Hartford High School & Middle School Choruses will be on hand. Featuring traditional visits from Frosty, Rudolph and, of course, Santa Claus, and guest emcee Mike Alan, Traffic Reporter from WTIC AM. The Town Green at Alumni Park.

6:30—8:30PM: Underwater Photos With Santa 
Get out of the cold and take a dip in the East Hartford High School pool from 6:30-8:30 PM.  Open to families and includes an underwater photo with “Scuba Santa!” Admission is a new unwrapped toy.  Sponsored by the Parks & Rec Department. East Hartford High School, 869 Forbes Street.


SATURDAY, DECEMBER 2

8—10:30 AM:  Pancake Breakfast & Visit With Santa
No reservations needed! Admission to the breakfast is $5.00 and a picture with Santa is an additional $3.00. Proceeds to benefit East Hartford families at Christmas. Held at First Congregational Church, 837 Main St. 

8—10:30 AM & 4:30—6:30 PM:  Christmas Boutique
Hand crafted ornaments, wreaths, wall decor, gift baskets, candy & kitchen knives.  Sponsored and held at First Congregational Church, 837 Main St.

9 AM—12 NOON:  Cookie Walk
Dozens of different varieties of holiday cookies to choose from. $8.00 per pound. Held at South Congregational Church, 1301 Forbes St.

9 AM—2 PM:  Christmas Fair
“Fantastic Waffles, Chili & Soup”, poinsettias, crafts, baked goods, cookie walk and Christmas ornaments for sale. Held at All Saints Episcopal Church, 444 Hills St.

10 AM— 4 PM:  Holiday Book Sale
Adult & children books to read or holiday giving. Sponsored by and held at the Raymond Library, 840 Main Street.

10 AM—2 PM:  Poinsettia Sale
Sponsored by EH Lions Club held at Raymond Library, 840 Main St.

10 AM—2 PM:   Health Info Booth
Health information on healthy holiday eating and nutrition with free giveaways. Info available for “Parents as Teachers” program providing parents with child development knowledge and support.  The Dental Van will be in the parking lot.  Sponsored by First Choice Health Center, Inc., and held at Raymond Library, 840 Main St.

10 AM—1 PM:   Goodwin Trolley Tour
Ride the “Main Street Local” with guide Robert Pasek as he takes you on a guided tour of historic Main Street. Trolley leaves Town Hall parking lot at 10 AM, 11 AM, 12 Noon & 1 PM. Sponsored by Goodwin College, with candy canes generously provided by the CT Valley Chamber of Commerce. Town Hall, 740 Main St.

11:00—11:30:  Winter Wonderland Storytime
All families are welcome. Stay after the story and make a craft, or take a picture in front of our larger-than-life snow globe. Craft making will be available all day, while supplies last. Held at the Raymond Library Children’s Room, 840 Main St.

12:00 Noon:  EH Presents Excerpts From “Little Scrooge”
A one act comedic play by Patricia Barry Rumble.  Produced by special arrangement with the Dramatic Publishing Company, Inc. of Woodstock, Illinois. Sponsored by the East Hartford Summer Youth Festival and The Cue and Curtain Players. Held at the EHCCC, 50 Chapman Pl.

1:30—4:30 PM:  Meet The Makerspace 
See our new technology in action including the 3D printers, Carvey, green screen and more! All ages welcome. Held at the Raymond Library Creative Commons, 840 Main St.

1:30—4:30 PM:  Winter Crafternoon
Adults and teens ages 12 and up are invited to join us for card making, coloring and scratch art. Held at the Raymond Library Creative Commons, 840 Main St.

2—4 PM:   “Classic Christmas—Jazz Christmas”
A holiday piano concert presented by East Hartford’s Paul Bisaccia, celebrated and world renowned pianist. Sponsored by East Hartford Fine Arts Commission. Held at First Congregational Church, 837 Main St.

4:00 PM:  Carol Sing
The community is invited to gather in the chapel for a carol sing.  Held at First Congregational Church, 837 Main St.

4:30—6:30 PM:  Spaghetti Supper
All are welcome for a continuous serving. $10 per person, $8 seniors, $5 children 5-13.  Children under 5 free. Proceeds benefit the East Hartford Food Bank. Sponsored by Boy Scout Troop 1, held at First Congregational Church, 837 Main St.

7:00 PM:   Holiday Dance Festival
A dance show featuring children and adult dancers. Sponsored by EH Rotary Club and Circle of Life-Arts for All, Inc. at the EHCCC, 50 Chapman Pl.


SUNDAY, DECEMBER 3

8:30 AM—11:00 AM:  Holiday Pancake Breakfast & Grandma’s Attic Sale
Come enjoy special pancakes featuring “Holiday Eggnog and Cranberry Pancakes with walnut syrup as well as regular pancakes, including sausage, coffee, tea and juice, all for just $5, and $3 for kids under 14. Shop holiday items, books and more.  Breakfast and sale held at the Hillstown Grange, 617 Hills St.

11:30 AM:  Holiday Brunch
$26.50 per person, advance purchase only. Call for reservations: 860-568-0065 by Nov. 24th.  Sponsored by the East Hartford Democratic Women’s Club held at Tastebuds, 1450 Main St.

12:30—3:30 PM:  Santa's Visit
Visit with Santa, arts & crafts, games, inflatables, snacks, holiday activities & more. Held at the EHCCC, 50 Chapman Pl.

12 NOON—3 PM:  Horse Drawn Wagon 
Enjoy a ride after visiting Santa at the Center. Sponsored by Beautification Commission and Parks & Recreation Department, held at the Town Green at Alumni Park.

12 NOON—4 PM:  Holiday Bingo & Luncheon
Reservations required, tickets through Senior Housing only. Sponsored by and held at the Moose Family Center, 404 Prospect St.

1—3 PM:  Snowman Building Contest
We’ll have nature’s snow or our own. Free hot chocolate and prizes! Sponsored by North End Residents & Merchants Assoc. WEATHER PERMITTING – If it is not cold enough to maintain the snow we will cancel this event.

4:30 PM:  Merrimack Valley Ringers
Come join us to hear the Merrimack Valley Ringers, a community hand bell ensemble. Christmas treats from around the world will be served afterwards. Held at Faith Lutheran Church, 1120 Silver Ln.


MONDAY, DECEMBER 4

10 AM— 4 PM:  Holiday Book Sale 
Adult & children books to read or holiday giving. Sponsored by & held at the Raymond Library Room 1, 840 Main St.

5:30 PM:  Lighting Of The Tree Of Lights
Sponsored by the East Hartford Woman’s Club to benefit E.H. Human Needs Fund. Purchase a light in honor or in memory of a friend or loved one ‑ $5.00. Contact: 860-289-7247. Held on the “Pocket Park” at Main St. and Connecticut Boulevard.

7:00 PM:  Musical Fest
A musical celebration by United Pratt Chorus and members of the East Hartford community and local churches. Sponsored by and held at Riverside Health Care Center, 745 Main St.
