ResearchIT CT allows access to library catalogs, newspapers and many subscription databases (including EBSCOhost) provided by the State of Connecticut with a valid Connecticut library card.

EBSCOhost databases including: Student Research Center, Biography Resource Center, Referencia Latina, Legal Information Reference Center and Flipster Online magazines. You will need your library card number to login.


Free access to records via the Connecticut State Library! Users in Connecticut within the library, school, academic institution or hospital will authenticate automatically by IP address. Users outside of the above institutions will land in a login screen, where they will be required to enter their valid Connecticut public library card numbers. After authenticating to the Collections page, users can search the collections. In order to access individual records, a personal account with is required. First-time users will see a Create an Account screen that will require they enter their first name, last name, e-mail address, and password (that they create). On all subsequent visits, those users will need to login with their username or email, and their chosen password to access individual records; the signin tab appears near the upper right hand corner of the screen in a black banner. There is no charge to create no to use this account.

The site allows patrons to search for jobs, practice interview skills, and learn about companies before applying for jobs. Glassdoor is also available via its mobile app on iOS and Android platforms.

The Library of Congress is the largest library in the world, with millions of books, recordings, photographs, maps and manuscripts in its collections. Much of the collection is accessible through their website.

The Library of Congress E-Resources Online Catalog provides access to electronic research tools, including databases, e-journals, e-books and websites on various topics suggested by the Library of Congress reference staff.

Treasures of Connecticut Libraries is a collection of items that has been digitized and made available online for searching. The items in the collection come from libraries and their partnering cultural institutions across Connecticut and include historical photographs, maps, postcards, films and more.
Connecticut History Online is a digital collection of over 15,000 digital primary sources, together with associated interpretive and educational material.
