East Hartford Veteran's Memorial Remembrance Ceremony

Sunday, May 29, 2016 at 6PM-7:30 PM, Bicentennial Park (Corner of Forbes Street and Scotland Road)

Our annual ceremony is held in remembrance of East Hartford's fallen military heroes. EHPD color guard and guest speakers are will be present. Roll call for fallen military members by service time, and Taps will be played. The Public is encouraged to attend.

Monday, May 23, 2016 at 10:30 AM            

The parade will form at the East Hartford Middle School, 777 Burnside Avenue and will move out at 10:30 am.  The route will be West on Burnside Avenue and South on Hillside Street to Hillside Cemetery. Weather:  The parade will be held, rain or shine, unless extreme inclement weather forces cancellation.  In which event, please tune your radio/TV to:  WDRC, WTIC or Channel 3 at 9:00 a.m.  Please come prepared for weather.  INCASE OF CANCELLATION THERE WILL BE NO RAIN DATE OR INDOOR CEREMONY

29th Annual Memorial Mile
Monday, May 30th

Parks & Rec and Board of Ed. Physical Education presents the 29th Memorial Mile preceding the Memorial Day parade. The 1 mile race starts on Scotland Road and finishes just west of Hillside St on Burnside Ave. Awards presented for men & women, 9 & under, 10-11, 12-13, 14-18, 19-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, 80-89, 90 & up. T-shirts issued to all pre-registrants as of May 8 and on race day if available.

Race begins at 10:20 AM. Race day registration ($20) and check-in at Martin Park from 8:30 - 9:45 AM.
