Nominated for an Academy Award in 2022 for Best International Feature Film from Bhutan, “Lunana: A Yak in the Classroom” follows city boy Ugyen to the far-flung village of Lunana, to complete the final year of his teaching contract/government service.  His dream was to venture to Australia to become a pop singer, but this dream shifts as he spends his year with the villagers, their children and the natural beauty and sounds of the middle-of-nowhere.  “Lunana: A Yak in the Classroom is captivating, moving and uplifting with just the right balance of humor and heart” [The NYC Movie Guru].  The film runs 1 hour and 50 minutes and was rated TV-PG.

The two other films in the series are “Made in Bangladesh” (March 18) and “The Last Tree” (UK & Nigeria; April 15).
