Connecticut River Flooding Notice

Connecticut River Flooding Notice

East Hartford, CT— The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) is predicting the Connecticut River levels to continue rising and crest at 23’ on Wednesday, July 12, 2023.

As the Connecticut River continues to rise, some roads in the area may experience moderate flooding. The affected streets include:

  • All streets west of Prospect St.
  • Pitkin St. from May St.
  • West to the Connecticut River and along East River Dr.
  • West of the Route 2 overpass.
  • All streets between Prospect St. and Floradale Dr.

Please be advised that the Sounds of Summer Concert scheduled for Thursday, July 13 has been postponed to a later date. That date will be announced, once finalized.

We are asking the public to remain at home and avoid driving over any standing water, as its depth can be deceiving. When it doubt, “TURN AROUND, DON’T DROWN.”

If you live on either street listed above and have important documents or belongings in your basement and lower levels that may be affected by rising waters, it may be in your best interest to move those items to a safer location in your home.
