Take Your Child to the Library Day is Saturday, February 3

East Hartford is joining the international celebration of Take Your Child to the Library Day on Saturday, February 3, 2024. 

The Raymond Library will be open from 10 AM - 2 PM. Stop by to check out books, movies, and more! Stick around for activities: complete the scavenger hunt in our children's room, or play with our train table, explore our educational games computers, or color a picture. From 11 AM - noon, the Bright and Beautiful therapy dogs will be in the children's program room for their monthly program, Read to the DogsRegistration is required for a 15-minute time slot (best suited for children ages 5 and up who are reading independently)

The Wickham Library branch will be open for special Saturday hours from 12 PM - 4 PM. At 2 PM, librarian and puppeteer Rolande Duprey will present "Spinning Straw into Gold," a classic hand puppet show that will entertain and enliven audiences from ages 4 to 104. "Spinning Straw into Gold" has been performed throughout the Northeast since 1985. This will be the show's final performance. Register for a reminder, or just drop in.
