2019 Service to Youth Award

Nominations for the 2019 Service to Youth Award are now being excepted.

East Hartford Youth Services is accepting nominations for the 34th annual Service to Youth Award.

The winning individual will be acknowledged for their outstanding service to the youth of East Hartford. Past nominees have included teachers, superintendents of schools, social workers, clergy, parents, coaches, police officers, firefighters, businesspeople, club members, students, and volunteers. 

Nominations can be made by anyone in the community and nomination forms are available at Town Hall, Raymond Library, Parks & Recreation, the Department of Youth Services (50 Chapman Place), and online at www.easthartfordct.gov/youth-services

This award is an opportunity to call deserved public attention to a person who has demonstrated their concern for the wellbeing of the youth population of the Town of East Hartford.

Completed forms along with a letter of recommendations outlining the nominee’s outstanding service to youth must be returned to:

Deadline for submitting a nomination is April 19, 2019. 

The East Hartford Youth Services Advisory Board will narrow the nomination pool to the top three candidates in early April.  Then, in late April, those three nominations will be presented to the general public. An online vote will take place and the nomination that receives the most online votes will be presented the Service to Youth Award.

The award will be presented on May 4, 2019 during “Prevention Idol” youth talent show at the Community Cultural Center. The show is a free, family friendly event open to the East Hartford Community. Door prizes and refreshments will be served.  Prevention Idol begins at 5:00 pm.
