Most people know someone who has successfully completed suicide or made an attempt.
Suicide is the 10th leading cause of death in the United States and 2nd among young people ages 15-24.
Suicide prevention is everybody’s business, and anyone can help prevent the tragedy of suicide.

This is a 1.5 hour training for youth 10 years of age & older, and adults.

QPR is not intended to be a form of counseling or treatment.  It is a way for "every day people" to recognize some of the warning signs, clues, and suicidal communication of people in trouble and shows you how to ACT vigorously to prevent possible tragedy .

QPR Training consists of three life-saving skills.  How to:

Question… a person about suicide
Persuade… the person to get help, and
Refer… the person to the appropriate resource.

To learn more about the QPR model, go to www.qprinstitute.com   The QPR Institute has been listed as an evidence-based practice in the National Register of Evidence-based Practices and Policies (NREPP). As part of the training, participants must complete a brief survey and then they will be considered to be trained as a QPR Gatekeeper and will receive a QPR booklet/card.
