East Hartford to Offer Low-Cost/No-Cost Rabies Clinic

East Hartford, CT – Mayor Michael P. Walsh is pleased to announce that the East Hartford Town Clerk, Robert J. Pasek, will sponsor a low-to-no-cost rabies vaccination clinic on Saturday, May 21, 2022, from 10am to 12pm at the rear of Firehouse No. 1, located at 726 Main Street. This clinic is presented in partnership with Dr. Linda Kane, Veterinarian of the East Hartford Animal Clinic, and in cooperation with the Connecticut Veterinary Medical Association.

The clinic is open to both dogs and cats. Please note that dogs must be brought on a leash and cats in a crate. The clinic is open to all, regardless of residency. The fee is $20, cash only. One pet may be vaccinated at no charge to owners who show their State Public Assistance Identification Card.

The clinic will issue a three-year rabies vaccination to pets who are already vaccinated but due for their next dose. Owners must show their pet’s rabies vaccination due date on either a current rabies certificate or town dog license. Dog license tags are not sufficient proof to qualify for the three-year vaccination. The one-year vaccine will be given to all other pets.

All inquiries should be directed to the Town Clerk’s Office at 860-291-7230.
