Seniors having fun and laughing

Volunteering is good for your community but it is also good for you! Volunteers report greater life satisfaction and better physical health. A Carnegie Mellon University study showed that adults over 50 who volunteer were less likely to develop high blood pressure. We have three volunteer opportunities for you. We are looking for volunteers to help serve the noon meal, work as an office volunteer or join the Special Events group. Please call the office if you would like to help. We would love to have you join us!

The September edition of the Senior Center newsletter is out. If you did not receive it in the mail, you can pick it up at the Senior Center or read it online at the Town of East Hartford website. Do you feel that the name Golden Ager describes you? Many senior centers are looking for names that are more in line with the activities that they offer. Think about it. Let me know your suggestions.
