ELECTION INFORMATION

  • Online Voter Registration Deadline - October 26th  (11:59 pm)
  • Mail Postmark Voter Registration Deadline - October 26th
    Residents can also drop their completed registration forms in the Town Hall Drop Box in the Town Hall parking lot  
  • In-Person Voter Registration Deadline -  October 26th 
    Registrars of Voters will be open Tuesday, October 26 from 9am to 8pm. 

After October 26

Those whose rights as to age, citizenship, or residence, mature after October 26th, may apply by appointment in the office on a daily basis until the opening of the limited session on November 2. 

Registrars of Voters will be open for in-person registration for those individuals who have turned 18, moved to East Hartford, or became a U.S. citizen after October 26, 2021. Hours of operation are Wednesday October 27, and Thursday October 28, from 11:00AM – 3:00PM, and Monday November 1, from 9AM-5PM. 

Election Day Registration

Election Day Registration permits anyone to register and vote in person on Election Day who meets the eligibility requirements for voting in this state and is not already registered, OR is registered in one town but has moved to another town. 

Election Day Registration (EDR) is not available at your polling place, but is available at the designated EDR location which will be in the Town Council Chambers in the Town Hall, beginning at 6 am and ending at 8 pm.  You will register and vote at this designated EDR. 

Please plan to arrive early in the day as there may be long lines. You will need to provide proof of identity and residency.
