Celebrate America Recycles Day at the East Hartford Senior Center

East Hartford Department of Public Works, in collaboration with East Hartford Senior Services, will celebrate America Recycles Day at the East Hartford Senior Center (70 Canterbury Street) on Wednesday, November 15, 2017 at 10AM. East Hartford Public Works will give an informative presentation to East Hartford residents about the importance of recycling and how people can use recycling to dramatically reduce the amount of waste they put in their garbage bins. Group activities on recycling techniques will follow the presentation.

The event will provide information about East Hartford’s curbside recycling program, as well as the many specialty recycling programs that the Town has to offer, including yard waste, paint, plastic wrap, textile and mattress recycling. These items are accepted at the East Hartford Transfer Station and, in some cases, curbside by appointment.
