Swim Lessons
We offer American Red Cross group swim lessons, semi-private and private swim lessons year round.  To see our current offerings please see our brochure, or click here to view the aquatics page. 

Basketball
We offer recreational basketball programs for girls in grades K-10 and boys in grades K-12.  for more information on the available programs, please click here to view the youth basketball brochure.

Toddler Gym - NEW!
For children ages 4 and under
Toddler Gym is an unstructured, free-play program and will offer activity stations set up in the Community Cultural Center Gymnasium, including giant foam building blocks, hula hoops, balls, ride-on toys and more!  This is a great opportunity for young children to play, socialize and be active during the winter months.  As it is an unstructured program, participants do not need to stay for the entire time, and can arrive at their convenience.  Caregivers must remain on site and supervise their child at all times; this is not a drop-off program. We are offering this program at a special introductory rate of just $5 per child for all six weeks! 
Dates:  Sundays, February 23 - March 29

Youth Tennis
For boys and girls in grades K-8
QuickStart Tennis is an exciting new instructional and play format for learning tennis. It’s designed to bring kids into the game by utilizing specialized equipment, shorter court dimensions and modified games tailored to age/size of the player. This is a  proven method to accelerate your child’s development and enjoyment of the game.  Participants may bring their own rackets, but rackets will also be available on site.   Please note that if classes are cancelled due to inclement weather, we are unable to schedule make-ups for this program.

Introduction to Dance with Moxie Dance Center
For boys and girls in Pre-K through grade 8.
The goal of these classes is to introduce different forms of dance to East Hartford youth.

Class Description:  Ballet class will focus on the beginnings of ballet technique and proper alignment of the body and muscle awareness. Students will work on basic barre, center and across the floor movements. Modern class will focus on basic to advanced technique creating body alignment as well as improvisational movement. Students will be exposed to a wide range of movement techniques, such as floor work, center work and movement games.

Chinese Culture
For children in grades K-12  (Parents of younger children are welcome to attend as well)
Learn about various Chinese culture, crafts and traditions with Fangzheng Xin, a Chinese exchange teacher from Teachers of Critical Language Program. He is in the US for a year and teaches Mandarin Chinese and Chinese culture in East Hartford High School. He enjoys sharing information about Chinese culture and is excited to share it with the East Hartford community.

April Vacation Camp
Grades 1-6
It’s not summer but that doesn’t mean you can’t go to camp!  Children in grades 1 through 6 can attend our special April vacation camp.  Each day of camp will have a fun-filled theme, planned special events and activities including crafts, indoor/outdoor games and tons of fun for participants!  Camps are held at the Community Cultural Center.  Each camper that signs up will receive a coupon for $10 off 2020 Summer Camp Registration!

Babysitter Training Course
Ages 11 to 15
For current and future babysitters.  Learn how to safely care for children. Covers how to manage real-life situations, diapering, feeding, professionalism and more!

Summer Camp
Ages 3-15
Our camps provide a safe, fun and active environment in which children can develop new skills, self-esteem and friendships. Our day camps offer a variety of activities to engage children of all ages and interests. Campers enjoy daily swimming and swim instruction from the lifeguards, special events, field trips, arts & crafts, games and much more!  Themes and activities vary from week to week and are designed to be age appropriate.  Information regarding our summer camps is released annually in April. 

Financial aid applications for summer camp are available at the Parks and Recreation office in March.  A copy of the head of the household’s 2019 Federal Income Tax Statement and a copy of the child’s birth certificate must accompany each application.  Deadline to apply for financial aid is April 24th, 2020.

Skate Park
Martin Skate Park will be open and unsupervised daily during park hours from sunrise to sunset. All patrons must wear a helmet, elbow and knee pads and wrist guards. Bicycles are not permitted. Those who use the skate park do so at their own risk and must abide by the rules.
