Hockanum River Race

Sunday, May 1st

Labor Field, 9:30 AM registration.  Race begins at 11 AM.  $10 per paddler.  Race finishes at Two Rivers Middle Magnet School. 

The Hockanum River flows from Enfield through Vernon, Manchester, East Hartford then out to the CT River near the Two Rivers Magnet School. It winds through East Hartford beside Burnside Avenue, then through residential and business backyards.

The East Hartford Hockanum River Commission is a small collection of volunteers who plan events to bring awareness of our part of the river. We organize clean ups mostly but we also put together a family oriented flat water boat race through the town. This year marks the 8th annual East Hartford Hockanum River Race.

We are looking for sponsorship, volunteers and racers.

If you would like to be a sponsor we take money, gift cards and prizes for the racers. You will get your name and logo on the race t-shirt and recognition at the race. Checks can be made out to the East Hartford Hockanum River Race and sent to Paula Saaf, Race Director at 20 Wynding Hills Road, East Granby, CT 06026.

If you want to race, bring your human propelled boat to Labor Field at 9:30 a.m. Sunday May 1 to sign up. Registration is $10 per paddler. The 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners in each category get a t-shirt. Shirts can be purchased for $10 each.
