(April 9, 2020) Mayor Leclerc's COVID-19 Update

Hello,

This is Mayor Marcia Leclerc to provide you with a brief COVID-19 update. Today is Thursday, April 9th and the state of CT reported 83 East Hartford confirmed cases of COVID-19, 27 of those are hospitalized and 4 of our neighbors have died.

Throughout Hartford County there has been 1,290 laboratory-confirmed positive cases and 68 COVID-19-fatalities.

East Hartford continues to closely monitor and coordinate responses with our local and regional health partners to eliminate the spread of the virus.

I am asking all East Hartford residents to ensure that we are all doing our part to safeguard our family and community as we enter the holiday weekend. I ask you to do so while honoring the Governor’s Executive Orders limitations on social gatherings to 5 persons.

And while the town will be closed tomorrow in observation of the holiday, I hope you will join me by taking a moment to remember those healthcare workers and frontline employees in our Fire & Police Departments who are placing their lives at risk to save others. Let’s respect them and commit to doing our part to keep the disease from spreading.

The best way to stay informed locally is to visit the Town’s website at www.easthartfordct.gov/covid-19-information. where you will find updated information from the town, State and CDC all in one place or follow us on Facebook. As a reminder Friday trash will be delayed to Saturday pickup.

Stay Home and Stay Safe.
