Stanwyck Cromwell Art Exhibit at East Hartford Public Library

Cromwell

The East Hartford Public Library is happy to announce that it will host a one-of-a-kind exhibit this summer.

The library will display “Caribbean Vibes: a Colorful Journey,” an exhibit featuring the work of Stanwyck Cromwell beginning this month.

Cromwell is a third-generation, Guyana-born contemporary visual artist, who has lived and worked in the United States for decades.  His work reflects the kaleidoscope of memories he has of Guyana, through various themes, vibrant colors and exotic patterns. Currently, Cromwell is also an adjunct art professor at Capital Community College in Hartford.

To get to know the artist and become more familiar with his work, the public is invited to an opening reception Saturday, July 14. The reception will take place at the East Hartford Public Library, located at 840 Main Street. The event will last from 1—4 p.m.

This reception is a great opportunity for visitors to meet Cromwell in person, view his art and enjoy the music of the Hartford Steel Symphony on the library lawn from 2-3 p.m.

There’s no registration needed to attend the reception. The admission is free and open to the public.

Cromwell’s art will be displayed at the East Hartford Public Library until September.
