Census Recruiting at the East Hartford Library

work for census

East Hartford, CT—The Town of East Hartford and the U.S. Census Bureau invite you to join the 2020 Census team in East Hartford on the following days to recruit part-time employees:

  • Wednesday, February 19th from 10:30 to 1 PM

During these sessions, interested individuals will learn about available job opportunities with the U.S. Census Bureau. There will be a chance to apply for a job in person during the event. Temporary positions for the 2020 Census offer flexible hours, which is a perfect fit for working individuals.  The event is open to the public and registration is not required.

Applicants can qualify for both field and office positions. The office positions, which are more limited, will be located in area Census offices. The role of these offices is to recruit, select, hire, train, manage, and pay all office and field staff who work within the designated boundaries of the geographic territory assigned to the office.

The U.S. Census Bureau attempts to count every person in the United States once every decade and these valuable statistics have a direct and significant impact on federal funds allocated to municipalities. By working for the Census residents will play a significant role in helping East Hartford raise awareness about the importance of the Census and give back to the community.

Those who are unable to attend the events at the library but still wish to apply for jobs can do so online at https://2020census.gov/en/jobs.
