Twelfth Annual Fine Arts Film Series Starts January 13

TWELFTH ANNUAL FINE ARTS FILM SERIES STARTS JANUARY 13

The Commission on Culture and Fine Arts begins their Saturday Night Cinema series on January 13 in the auditorium of the East Hartford Community Cultural Center, 50 Chapman Place, at 7:00 in the evening.  This is the Commission’s 12th annual international film series.  The series will include 4 films, one each on the second Saturday of the month, from January through April.  All screenings are free.

January 13th’s film will be Kedi (2016) from Turkey, and it is our first documentary.  This film is unrated and runs 79 minutes, and follows the stray cats of Istanbul and the people they allow in their lives.  Rogerebert.com gave the film 4 stars.

The second film, on Saturday, February 10, will be Their Finest from England (2016).  March 10th’s film will be The Women’s Balcony from Israel (2016), and the final film on April 14 will be Maudie (2016) from Canada.
