East Hartford, CT—The Town of East Hartford’s Recovery Team, formed earlier this month, has been diligently working on implementation of Governor Lamont’s reopening plans, while mirroring the phases of the opening of our State.

Last week, we successfully amended our permitting system to approve outside dining for our restaurants. Please read more about East Hartford’s outdoor dining permitting process and guidelines here. Additionally, we are in the process of planning for potential summer programming for various departments including Parks and Recreation, Library, and Youth Services with safety of our residents, visitors and employees being our priority.

“We must adapt our services in a way that reflects the changed reality brought on by the current crisis, while maintaining and enhancing the level of municipal services and programming that residents have come to expect from the Town of East Hartford,” said Mayor Marcia Leclerc.

As part of East Hartford’s reopening process, we have reviewed the status of municipal services and have developed subcommittees to perform the on-the-ground work to collect information and develop proposals that reflect our new reality. In addition to the Recovery Group’s overall focus on public health and safety, our current subcommittees are working on summer programming, employee and public facilities, as well as business outreach and assistance.

Residents who are interested in East Hartford’s summer programs should anticipate announcements on these issues in the near future.  Please continue to monitor our social media pages including Town of East Hartford-Government and Mayor Marcia Leclerc, along with our website at www.easthartfordct.gov for additional information.
