Next Coffee with a Cop Event Wednesday, May 16th

Spring is in the air, and warmer weather has arrived.  How about an iced coffee with East Hartford’s finest?  The East Hartford Police Department is inviting everyone to take a break and have a chat over a cup of coffee.  Join them for Coffee With A Cop on Wednesday, May 16th from 8:00 to 10:00 AM at Dunkin’ Donuts on Silver Lane in East Hartford.

Since 2016, the East Hartford Police Department has hosted a regular program designed to bring police officers and the community members they serve together – over coffee – to discuss issues and learn more about each other.  No agenda, no speeches.  Talk with police about your neighborhood, ask questions, share concerns, or stop by just to chat.

When the police and the communities they serve work together, good things can happen,” said Police Chief Scott Sansom.  “With face-to-face interaction, not only do the police get to better know the people they serve, but people get to better know the police that protect them, Sansom added.  “If you have a few moments, stop by and treat yourself to a break with a cup of coffee and a friendly chat with an officer.”

The Coffee With A Cop program is recognized on a national level for building community trust.  In a short time, Citizens and police officers get to know each other and discover mutual goals for the communities they live in and serve.  Chief Sansom and the East Hartford Police Department encourage everyone to stop by.

The next East Hartford Police Coffee with a Cop takes place from 08:00AM to 10:00AM on Wednesday, May 16th at Dunkin’ Donuts, 364 Silver Lane, East Hartford, Connecticut.  All are welcome.
