East Hartford Works Partners with Goodwin University to Offer a Professional Skills Academy

East Hartford, CT— East Hartford Works is partnering with Goodwin University to offer a FREE 5-week Professional Skills Academy to East Hartford residents with a focus on manufacturing. The 5-week academy will be part-time, three days a week at Goodwin University, held Tuesday-Thursday evenings at 4-9 PM. Apply by April 1, 2023. Classes start April 18, 2023. 

The academy is FREE to East Hartford residents ONLY. Those who complete the 60-hour course will earn continuing education credentials from Goodwin University in the following:

  • Enhanced shop math
  • Introduction to blue-print reading
  • Enhanced metrology (manufacturing measurements)
  • OSHA 10

Students will receive instructions from Goodwin professors and East Hartford Works staff on job preparation necessities, including concepts of professionalism, team dynamics, conflict response and resume development. Through the academy, students will meet with employees and explore potential professional opportunities.
