East Hartford Senior Center Offers Free Virtual Self-Care Classes

East Hartford, CT—The East Hartford Senior Center is excited to offer new virtual Self-Care Series for seniors. Seniors are invited to tune in to improve their health and reduce stress through connection, movement and relaxation techniques. Recreational opportunities and new experiences enrich the mind, body and spirit, especially when offered in a safe and accepting atmosphere.

The series will be broadcast on local TV:  Comcast Channels 95 + 1070; Frontier Channel 6017.

The first series are titled Journaling for Creative Expression + Stress Reduction, and will air every Wednesday at 8:30am and 2:00pm.

Mindfulness & Meditation is Easier than you Think!                     

Debunk the myth that the mind needs to quiet to meditate!  Learn different ways to meditate and the benefits that each brings. Understand the meaning of mindfulness in everyday life, ways to be mindful throughout the day and the benefits meditation and being mindful can offer to reduce stress and enhance health and wellness. 

Find Joy with Playful Dance and Movement                       

Participants are invited to explore movement with dancing, marching, stretching, balancing and gentle chair yoga from the comfort of their own home.  Learn ways to add movement to your day and the benefits to your health, mind and body.
