East Hartford, CT –Celebrate Black History Month with this spotlight on a local artist! Georges Annan Kingsley, Ivory Coast artist and author, was born in Ghana and educated in the Ivory Coast and in Paris, France. Georges has worked as an art teacher and community organizer and is an outreach specialist at the East Hartford Public Library. He lives in Hartford, where he has done two different murals and many exhibitions. His works and creations are in private and public collections around the world.

For our “artist spotlight,” Georges will present a collection of paintings featuring women in their day-to-day activities. With thirty years of experience as an artist traveling the world and learning different cultures, Annan Kingsley celebrates the effort of women of all races, who give life to the world, acknowledging the struggles they face. Different techniques and mediums allow him to express different ideas, from bright colors to simplification of shapes.
