Funding for the purchase was provided by the Town of East Hartford Commission on Culture and Fine Arts.

This piece, as well as others from the library’s collection, may be viewed during the library’s normal hours: Monday-Thursday, 9 am – 8 pm; Friday-Saturday, 9 am – 5 pm. There is no charge. The East Hartford Public Library is located at 840 Main Street, East Hartford, CT 06108.

Stanwyck Cromwell is a Guyanese-born contemporary visual artist and an adjunct art professor at Capital Community College. He has lived and worked in the United States of America for the vast majority of his adult life.  Cromwell uses his Guyanese past, including cultural and religious practices as hybrids for his Guyanese-American experiences. His work is an embodiment of all these experiences, using multi-media and color to explore new artistic horizons.
