East Hartford Police Department Welcomes New Officers

East Hartford, CT—The Town of East Hartford and the East Hartford Police Department welcomed four new police officers today at a ceremony held outside the East Hartford Public Safety Complex.

Officers Colin DiPisa, Brian Hagan, Niko Krzynowek, and Liam Lynch were administered the Oath of Office by East Hartford Town Clerk Robert Pasek, overseen by Mayor Marcia Leclerc, East Hartford Police Chief Scott Sansom and members of the Department Command Staff. 

“I would like to wish our newest recruits all the best as they soon begin rigorous training at the police academy,” said Mayor Marcia A. Leclerc. “I am proud to say that upon their successful graduation, these officers will be joining one of the finest police departments in the state. I am confident they will uphold the East Hartford Police Department’s high ethical standards and will serve our community with pride and integrity.”

“We’re fortunate to be able to find such great recruits,” Chief Sansom said.  “There are many options for qualified candidates these days, so for them to select East Hartford says a lot about our agency and our community,” he explained. “We look forward to having them join our Patrol Division, and anticipate these new East Hartford officers enjoying long careers here.” 

Officer Colin DiPisa, 24, is a life-long Connecticut resident and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Natural Resources Management from the University of Connecticut.  Officer Brian Hagan, 25, is a life-long Hartford Country resident, and he holds an Associate degree in Criminal Justice from Tunxis Community College.  Officer Niko Krzynowek, 26, is also a life-long Connecticut resident, and intends to continue pursuing a degree in Criminal Justice.  Officer Liam Lynch, 26, is long-time Connecticut resident.  He also served with the United States Marine Corps, honorably discharged at the rank of Sergeant. 

The new Officers will begin Academy training later this month, followed by Field Training later this year.
