What does the Census Day of Action mean? We want to ensure that everyone in our town is counted in the 2020 Census. Responding to the Census is quick, safe, and easy. To fill it out online just go to 2020CENSUS.GOV, to fill it out by phone, call 844-330-2020 (English) or 844-468-2020 (Spanish), for additional languages please see this link, or mail your filled out form. Please know, due to the pandemic, self-response deadline has been extended through October 31, 2020.

“It is critical that everyone gets counted in East Hartford in 2020 so that we don’t miss out on federal and state funding for instrumental programs that support our residents,” said Mayor Marcia Leclerc.

Residents can help East Hartford increase our response rate by participating in the CALL FIVE campaign. Here’s how it works:

  • Call at least five of your friends, family, or neighbors on June 17 to see how they are doing during the COVID-19 pandemic.
  • Ask them if they have had the chance to fill out their Census questionnaire yet.
  • If not, explain to them that completing the Census is safe, easy, and important. By being counted, they can help East Hartford receive thousands of dollars in state and federal funding to support critical programs and services vital for our community.
  • Tell them they can fill it out online at 2020Census.gov, over the phone at 844-330-2020 in English and 12 non-English languages.
  • Before you end your call, ask them to then CALL FIVE people to check in and also ask about the Census. It’s that easy!

Please fill out this form to let us know that you will participate in this important campaign.

If you are part of an organization or group, please include the names and e-mail addresses of each participant.

Participants will receive sample scripts for their use in English and Spanish. It is critical for our community that all East Hartford residents are accounted for and we encourage you to take a few moments to answer the Census questionnaire.

By being counted, we are helping gain vital funding, as well as equal representation in the federal government. So stand up, be counted, and help #ShapeYourFuture. #EveryoneCountsInEastHartford
