East Hartford Commission on Culture and Fine Arts Invites you to Paul Bisaccia's Concert

East Hartford, CT - The East Hartford Commission on Culture and Fine Arts presents homegrown artist/pianist Paul Bisaccia in a new, free concert featuring Beethoven’s celebrated “Waldstein” Sonata, on Sunday, April 24 at 2 PM at First Congregational Church, 837 Main Street.  The concert includes the music of Beethoven, Haydn, Czerny and Liszt, with Liszt’s famous Hungarian Rhapsody No. 2 - one of the most popular piano pieces ever written.  As a special treat Paul will also play Beethoven’s beloved Fur Elise.

Paul Bisaccia takes special pleasure in the exceptional teachers who taught him.

His teacher, Luiz de Moura Castro, studied at the Franz Liszt Academy in Budapest with Joseph Gat.  Gat’s teacher was Itsvan Toman, a favorite student of Franz Liszt. Liszt’s teacher in Vienna was the famous piano teacher Carl Czerny.  Carl Czerny was a favorite pupil of Beethoven.  So, in 6 piano teacher generations we are back to Beethoven.  All these musicians were legendary pianists and piano teachers.  We can go back one step further!  Haydn taught Beethoven.  This concert will be a special homage to all of Paul’s “musical great grandfathers."
