 2022 General Election Information

East Hartford, CT— Please be advised the statewide general election will take place on Tuesday, November 8, 2022, from 6 AM to 8 PM at designated polling places. Voters will cast ballots for the following candidates:

In order to be able to vote in the general election, citizens must be registered voters. Individuals who have registered in the past and have not changed their residential address since then, do not have to register again. However, those who have never registered or have registered, but changed their address since then, must register again with their new address. The quickest and easiest way to register is online here. Please register as soon as possible to ensure enough time to be processed. The deadline to register online or in person is November 1, 2022. 

Election Day Registration (EDR)

Election Day Registration permits anyone to register and vote in person on Election Day who meets the eligibility requirements for voting in this state and is not already registered, turned 18 after November 1, OR is registered in one town but has moved to another town. Election Day Registration will occur at Town Council Chambers at the Town Hall at 740 Main Street and not at your local polling place. The Registrars of Voters staff will be available for election day registration on Tuesday, November 8, from 6 am to 8 pm. 


For those voting by absentee ballots, they must be postmarked by November 1, 2022. Please contact the Town Clerk's Office at 860-291-7230 with questions regarding absentee ballots.
