Vax+: Sign Up for Free Heating Assistance, Water Assistance, and Tax Benefits
Launched by Connecticut’s Department of Public Health and Department of Social Services, the Vaccine+ program is helping CT residents:
- Sign up for water and heating assistance, and
- Receive the Child Tax Credit and/or Earned Income Tax Credit via free tax assistance
East Hartford residents can sign up to receive a call back from their local Community Action Agency (CAA) for heating / water assistance and a text from SimplifyCT for free tax assistance by visiting the Vaccine+ Utility Assistnace website and filling out a simple online intake form. Eligibility is not based on the receipt of a vaccine. Residents could receive up to $1,000 in water assistnace, $1,015 in heating assistance, and up to $3,600 per child in tax credits.
