East Hartford COVID-19 Update: Testing and Vaccination Resources

East Hartford, CT—The Town of East Hartford advises residents to take steps to protect yourself and your family as COVID-19 community transmission continues to increase in Connecticut.  The number of cases among East Hartford residents has nearly tripled during the last several weeks to an average daily rate of approximately 85 per 100,000 and lab positive rate of approximately 8 percent. "If you are experiencing symptoms of illness that are suggestive of a COVID-19 infection, or have been informed that you were in contact with a person that had COVID-19, getting tested is important to help reduce further spread to your loves ones, especially as we plan for upcoming holiday gatherings with family and friends," said Mayor Mike Walsh.  Even as Omicron is becoming the predominant circulating variant, vaccinations remain one of the safest and most effective ways to protect yourself from COVID-19 infection, especially among persons with underlying medical conditions that increase their risk of severe disease.
