Summer reading is for everyone! Preschoolers, children, teens, and adults are all invited to join our online summer reading program. Registration is open now, and the the program begins Monday, June 14th and continues until Friday, August 27th, 2021. Log your reading and complete fun activities to begin earning points and raffle entries! .
Preschoolers, school-aged children, and teens will earn a prize for signing up! To earn points on ReadSquared, children and teens can log book titles, attend library programs (either outdoor in-person or virtual), and complete a line on the Bingo card to be
eligible for weekly raffle prizes. Prizes aren’t just for the kids! Our adult summer reading has prizes, too, including gift certificates from local businesses.
Please note that the East Hartford Public Library summer reading program is the same thing as the Governor’s Summer Reading Challenge. For all East Hartford Public Schools students, we will report book totals to the schools at the end of the summer.
Wondering what to read? Borrow a book from a friend, visit us at the library, or re-read an old favorite from your own bookshelf—all books can count towards your summer reading goal.
For detailed program information, visit our website and click on our Events Calendar . This summer, we will continue to offer virtual programs for all ages via Zoom, as well as a new lineup of outdoor options. For our outdoor programs, register for a reminder, and to be notified in the event of weather-related cancelations.
