Museum Pass Program

East Hartford Museum Passes

Please have your library card and pin (password) handy to make your reservation. Your pin is the same number you use to access your library card account online. If you do not have a pin, please call the library for assistance.

What does the pass allow me to do?
Passes allow a set number of people to attend the attraction or museum for a reduced rate or free admission.

How Does the Museum Pass Program work?
Some passes are printable, and some are available for checkout at the library. East Hartford library cardholders may reserve passes up to 90 days in advance. All cardholders may reserve passes on the day of use. Passes can be reserved online, by phone at 860-290-4330, or in person. A valid adult Connecticut library card is required to place a reservation.

What does “Printable” mean?
Printable means that you can print the museum pass from home or at the library. Simply make your reservation, print the pass, and you’re ready to follow ticketing procedures for the museum you're visiting! These passes MUST be presented in printed format along with a photo I.D. and your library card. Electronic versions (on smartphones or tablets) will NOT be accepted by museums. No printer at home? Printed passes are available for pick up at the library, please call 860-290-4330 for this service.

How do I check out a pass at the library?
Stop by the Children's Desk with your library card to check out your pass. You may come as early as 3pm the day before your reservation. Your pass will be inside a plastic envelope with information about the site you are visiting. Passes must be returned inside to the Children's Desk by 2pm the day after your reservation.

Are there any limits or penalties?

  • Two passes may be borrowed per card, per day.
  • A total of five passes can be borrowed per calendar month.
  • Family members cannot check out the same pass more than once per month.
  • A pass to a single museum can be borrowed a maximum of 5 times per year.
  • Patrons must abide by the conditions that each location sets forth. Conditions may include limiting the number of people that can be admitted while using the pass or restrictions on using the pass for some exhibits or during special events.
  • Passes may not cover the total cost of admission. Please check with the museum you are interested in ahead of time for the most up-to-date information on hours, admission rates, and ticketing.
  • Passes can be picked up after 3pm the day before they will be used. Passes are due by 2pm the day after they are used. Patrons will be charged the cost of the museum pass if they are not returned to the library.

How do I cancel a reservation?
If your plans change, please cancel your reservation by logging into your account here or by calling the library. We have a limited number of passes and would like to have passes made available for check out if your plans have changed.

Does your family receive SNAP EBT benefits?
Check with the museum to see if they offer discounted or free admission.

Did you know that the East Hartford Public Library is also a museum?
Visit the library to view items related to East Hartford history and its connection to the tobacco and aviation industries, art created by the annual winners of the East Hartford Art League art show, local artist’s exhibits, and more!
