Curbside Bulky Waste Pickup

Residents will no longer need a permit for the curbside pick-up of bulky waste. Residents may call All American Waste at (860) 289-7850 or email easthartford@aawllc.com for an appointment for curbside bulky waste pick-up. Single and 2-family properties will receive two (2) FREE pick-ups per unit for each fiscal year, July to June. Three (3) to six (6) family units will receive four (4) FREE pick-ups per unit for each fiscal year.

All 1-6 family properties may schedule additional pick-ups after their FREE appointments at a fee of $25 each to be paid by credit or debit card.

Curbside Pickup Acceptable Items (Burnable, Non-Burnable, Metal, Mattresses):

Burnable:

  • Wooden furniture, couches, chairs, recliners, plastic lawn furniture, toys
  • Carpeting
  • Plastic Lawn Furniture & Toys
  • Bundled building wood
  • Bundled Yard Clippings
  • Branches & Limbs- not to exceed six (6) inches in diameter, cut to four (4) feet or less, tied in bundles not larger than three (3) feet in diameter

Non-Burnable Items (including, but not limited to):

  • Ceramics/acrylics/fiberglass/-sinks, toilets, tubs

Metal (including, but not limited to):

  • Refrigerators (doors removed)
  • Freezers (doors removed)
  • Microwaves
  • Stoves
  • Washers
  • Dryers
  • Dishwashers
  • Air Conditioners
  • Lawn Mowers (fluids drained)
  • Snow Blowers (fluids drained)
  • Backyard Swings Sets
  • Tire Rims
  • Bicycles
  • Charcoal and Gas Grills (no propane tanks)
  • Metal Lawn Furniture
  • Bundled Pipes no longer than 4 feet
  • Bundled fencing (without concrete base)
  • Storm Windows
  • Radiators
  • Metal Insert from Sleeper Sofas
  • And other similar scrap metal items

Curbside Pickup Unacceptable Items:

  • Car Parts (including tires & batteries)
  • Building demolition debris (lumber, earth, stone, concrete, plaster, mortar, masonry)
  • Electronics (TVs, computers, printers, monitors, etc)
  • Hazardous Waste * (paints, gas, oil, anti-freeze, pesticides, etc.)
  • Items in Bags & Cardboard Boxes
  • Recyclables & Household Rubbish
