East Hartford Police Welcome New Officers

The Town of East Hartford welcomed its newest Police Officers at a ceremony held at the East Hartford Town Hall on Monday. In the presence of family and friends, Officers David Flores, Ryan Proulx, and Harry Mullin were administered the Oath of Office by East Hartford Town Clerk Robert Pasek, overseen by East Hartford Police Chief Scott Sansom and several members of his Command Staff.
“Officers Flores, Proulx and Mullin are capable officers who served ably in their previous communities, Mayor Marcia A. Leclerc said. “It gives me great pleasure to welcome them to our community – I am certain they will be a credit to our Town.”

“We welcome these Officers to East Hartford with much anticipation,” Chief Sansom said. “Although they are new East Hartford Officers, they are not new to policing. These Officers were highly regarded by their former agencies, and we’re fortunate to have them now serving our community,” he explained.

Officer Flores, who was raised in East Hartford and attended East Hartford schools, served three years with the Madison Police Department prior to joining East Hartford Police. Officer Proulx, who had served two years with the Monroe Police Department, also has deep roots in East Hartford. His father, Officer William Proulx, retired from East Hartford Police in January, 2002. Officer Mullin served two years with the Wallingford Police Department, and is also from the greater Hartford area.

The new East Hartford Officers will begin their transitional training immediately, which will be followed by Field Training in early May.
